2022 Street Improvement Project - Construction Update

Friday, October 21, 2022

This week, Dresel Contracting, Inc., the contractors for the City of Vadnais Heights 2022 Street Improvement Project, completed utility improvements along Oak Crest Drive, South Oak Drive, and South Oak Court.  Additionally, the road was reclaimed, a process that grinds and mixes the existing asphalt with the gravel base below.

Next week, concrete ribbon curb will be placed along Oak Crest Drive and South Oak Drive.  Once concrete is poured, it needs one week to cure before it is strong enough to be driven on.  All impacted homes must have their cars out of their driveways and onto the street by 7:00 am Wednesday, October 26 and parked on the city side of the road (east side of Oak Crest Drive and south side of South Oak Drive) to allow for the contractors to install the curb. We encourage you to park on side streets or in the Community Park parking lot to allow for space for the installation of concrete as well as a quick way for you to avoid the slow traffic in the area due to the concrete trucks. Once the concrete is poured, minor work will take place on site for the rest of the week so that you can park your cars in the street, directly in front of your homes.

The contractor will install additional lighting next week to maintain safety while cars are parked on the street overnight.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and patience as the work progresses.  Please keep children a safe distance away from activities. Thank you!
