2021 Street Improvement Project - Construction Update
Monday, August 16, 2021
Last week,
T.A. Schifsky & Sons, Inc., the contractors for the
City of Vadnais Heights 2021 Street Improvement Project, continued construction on
Suzanne Court, Suzanne Avenue, Martin Way, and Southwood Drive by patching in bituminous driveways and filling in holes at the backs of curb replaced.
With manhole covers and gate valves raised and patched, they still stick out of the ground more than usual, so please drive with caution. This week the contractor will be performing miscellaneous improvements on site including but not limited to, removing and replacing bituminous trail, pouring concrete pedestrian ramps and cleaning debris in the area.
The contractor will also begin work at
Stockdale Drive, Bridgewood Park, and Kohler Meadows Park. They will begin with the removal of existing bituminous, concrete, and surrounding structures where necessary.
There should always be at least one lane of traffic open on the road so it should not impact any driving access to and from the area.
Bridgewood Park will be closed during construction starting August 18 so there will be no access to the park or the pickleball courts. Access will be restored as soon as possible. Concrete sidewalk pedestrian ramps on Rice Street will be impacted so please pay attention to any barriers in the walking lane. The trail at Kohler Meadows Park will also be impacted, so please use caution when walking in the area.
There will be disruption, so thank you in advance for your patience. Please keep children a safe distance away from activities. Thank you!
