Each commission is comprised of no more than seven members, who are appointed by the City Council to serve three-year terms. To learn about open commission seats contact Kathy Keefe or call 651-204-6013.

Historical Commission
The Historical Commission collects and preserves historical facts about the community. Kathy Keefe is this commission's staff liaison.

Park, Recreation, and Trails Commission
The Park, Recreation, and Trails Commission advises the City Council on issues regarding public recreation programs and the development and maintenance of parks and trails. Public Service Supervisor/Parks Kenneth LaCasse is the staff liason to this commission.

Planning Commission
The Planning Commission recommends comprehensive plan updates; reviews and recommends modifications to the City's zoning and subdivision codes; proposes plans for future development and improvement of the City; and considers all plats and all plans and proposals for development.

In addition, the Commission recommends matters related to public transportation; proposes regulations to protect the natural environment; promotes life-cycle housing; and reviews variances to City Code. City Administrator Donn Wiski is the staff liaison for the Planning Commission

Health and Public Safety Commission
The Health and Public Safety Commission assists and advises the City Council on policy related to public safety and solid waste. The Commission annually reviews police, fire, paramedic, and EMT response, animal control, emergency management, traffic, and other street and trail concerns.

Fire Chief Ed Leier is the liaison to this commission. Also attending the meetings are representatives from the Ramsey County Sheriff Department and Allina.
